Who you'll be working with.
I'm Shawn Devine. I've spent more than twenty years designing and running leadership development, and I'm still the person who runs the room.
The work has taken me into Fortune 100 companies and small nonprofits, law and engineering firms, universities and pharmaceutical companies. It has taken me onto several continents. A lot of those organizations have asked me back, which tells me more than any evaluation form does.
THE WORK
What the room taught me.
The firms I work with are full of people who are very smart, very busy and not especially patient with training. They can tell within ten minutes whether a session is going to be worth their time, and they're usually right. So I don't lecture. People work through something real, a conversation they've been avoiding or a meeting that keeps going sideways, and they leave with at least one thing they can use on Monday morning. That's the bar I hold every session to.
Much of my work comes through partner firms: Loeb Leadership, ALG, Training Edge and P2Excellence. Working alongside them keeps me honest about what I do well and what I don't. If your project needs something outside that, I'll say so and tell you who to call.
